The bustling Bharatpur Beach is conveniently located approximately half a kilometre from the jetty. This large sandy length and gently curving harbour are ideal for swimming. Even non-swimmers can enjoy a refreshing dip in the shallow water. Swimming is not feasible at low tide unless you go 500 metres through the coral reef into deeper waters.

The entire area is great for snorkelling since there are so many different species and, in certain places, new emerging corals. Beach No. 4 is by far the most popular beach on Neil, particularly with Indian visitors who come to swim in the warm seas or participate in one of the various activities available. Glass-bottom boats or kayaks can be rented.

Organize snorkelling excursions. There are also several vendors offering drinks, coconuts, snacks, and tourist trinkets. On the beach, there are also restrooms and changing facilities. If you want to avoid the throng, stroll a little further away from the people and you'll discover a quiet sandy stretch all to yourself. The beautiful trees on the seashore provide plenty of shade.

What is the best way to get to Bharatpur Beach?

Bharatpur Beach is located on Neil Island, near to the jetty. Simply go a few hundred metres east of the jetty entrance on a short road, follow the direction signs, and you'll arrive at the beach. Small outdoor cafes and a ticketing station for water activities mark the spot.

From anyplace on the island, one may take a taxi, auto-rickshaw, or hire a 2-wheeler (day rentals only).
